General Dynamics NASSCO, San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $37,376,704 cost-plus-fee contract for the fitting-out availability of USS San Diego (LPD 22). Specific efforts include program management, planning, engineering, design, liaison, scheduling, labor and procurement of incidental material. This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $134,470,993. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed by December 2014. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via the Federal Business Opportunities website, with two offers received. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00024-12-C-2400).
Correction: Contract awarded Sept. 26, 2011, to K.O.O. Construction, Inc., Sacramento, Calif., (N62473-09-D-1655) for $12,161,316 should have indicated that the company was a small business.
AIR FORCE
Cubic Defense Applications, Inc., San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a not to exceed $31,435,144 firm-fixed-price contract for approximately 105 airborne subsystems, parallel and serial umbilicals, and ballast, ground subsystems:� transport ground subsystem with live monitor, control display units, portable ground subsystem, remote range unit, maintenance boot flash module, travel and engineering and technical management support and program management. This contract supports foreign military sales to Australia (37 percent). AAC/EBYK (Range Instrumentation Systems Branch), Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., is the contracting activity (FA8678-12-C-0104).
Mesotech International, Inc., Sacramento, Calif. is being awarded a $14,904,304 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to procure the Fixed Base Weather Observation System; an integrated system of multiple weather sensors and data automation components designed to continually measure the conditions of the environment and formulate aviation surface weather reports at military installations and operating areas in support of flight safety and force protection.
