NAVY

Gen­er­al Dynam­ics Nation­al Steel and Ship­build­ing Co., San Diego, Calif., is being award­ed a $744,129,956 mod­i­fi­ca­tion to pre­vi­ous­ly award­ed con­tract (N00024-09-C-2229) for the pro­cure­ment of the detail design and con­struc­tion of two mobile land­ing plat­form ships. Work will be per­formed in San Diego, Calif. (62 per­cent); Mobile, Ala. (7 per­cent); Pitts­burgh, Pa. (6 per­cent); Beloit, Wis. (5 per­cent); Crozet, Va. (2 per­cent); Chesa­peake, Va. (2 per­cent); and Belle Chas­se, La. (1 per­cent), with oth­er efforts per­formed at var­i­ous sites through­out the Unit­ed States (8 per­cent) and out­side the Unit­ed States (7 per­cent). Work is expect­ed to be com­plete by Feb­ru­ary 2014. Con­tract funds will not expire at the end of the cur­rent fis­cal year. The Naval Sea Sys­tems Com­mand, Wash­ing­ton, D.C., is the con­tract­ing activity. 

Bech­tel Plant Machin­ery, Inc., Mon­roeville, Pa., is being award­ed a $26,823,812 mod­i­fi­ca­tion to pre­vi­ous­ly award­ed con­tract (N00024-07-C-2100) for naval nuclear propul­sion com­po­nents. Work will be per­formed in Mon­roeville, Pa. (93.7 per­cent), and Sch­enec­tady, N.Y. (6.3 per­cent). Con­tract funds will not expire at the end of the cur­rent fis­cal year. No com­ple­tion date or addi­tion­al infor­ma­tion is pro­vid­ed on naval nuclear propul­sion pro­gram con­tracts. The Naval Sea Sys­tems Com­mand, Wash­ing­ton, D.C., is the con­tract­ing activity. 

The PM2i, Inc.*, Austin, Texas, is being award­ed $14,074,624 for firm-fixed-price task order #0002 under a pre­vi­ous­ly award­ed mul­ti­ple award con­struc­tion con­tract (N69450-10-D-0773) for con­struc­tion of oper­a­tional facil­i­ties for T‑6 Tex­an fixed wing tur­bo prop train­er air­craft at Naval Air Sta­tion Cor­pus Christi. The work to be per­formed pro­vides for con­struc­tion includ­ing a sin­gle-sto­ry fire station/crash crew facil­i­ty at Out­ly­ing Land­ing Field Goli­ad, Texas. The facil­i­ty has three appa­ra­tus bays, an office, storage/laundry room, dayroom/galley, restroom/shower, fit­ness room, bunkrooms and pilot lounge. Con­struc­tion includes a new emer­gency gen­er­a­tor build­ing, run­way light­ing to include approach path indi­ca­tors, tie-downs, ground­ing sys­tem, pave­ment mark­ings, repair to access road, util­i­ties and site improve­ments, secu­ri­ty fenc­ing around the new facil­i­ties and demo­li­tion of exist­ing con­trol tow­er and site improve­ments. Repair of exist­ing run­way includes milling of pave­ment, lev­el­ing, instal­la­tion of rein­forced fab­ric, repair­ing cracks, over­lay and strip­ing. Repair project also includes par­tial demo­li­tion and ren­o­va­tion of exist­ing fire sta­tion to house sup­port vehi­cles. Work will be per­formed in Goli­ad, Texas, and is expect­ed to be com­plet­ed by June 2012. Con­tract funds will not expire at the end of the cur­rent fis­cal year. Four pro­pos­als were received for this task order. The Naval Facil­i­ties Engi­neer­ing Com­mand, South­east, Jack­sonville, Fla., is the con­tract­ing activity. 

ARMY

Glob­al Fleet Sales, Inc., South­field, Mich., was award­ed on May 24 a $146,018,060 firm-fixed-price con­tract. The award will pro­vide for the pro­cure­ment of 1,788 Car­go Trans­port II trucks; 3,955 police trucks; and 55 mobile main­te­nance trucks. Work will be per­formed in Chon­buri, Thai­land, with an esti­mat­ed com­ple­tion date of Nov. 31, 2012. The bid was solicit­ed through the Inter­net, with three bids received. River­side Research Insti­tute, New York, N.Y., is being award­ed a not-to-exceed $49,000,000 indef­i­nite-deliv­ery/in­def­i­nite-quan­ti­ty con­tract for grad­u­ate-lev­el tech­ni­cal ser­vices and exper­tise for the Air Force Insti­tute of Tech­nol­o­gy, for the Cen­ter for Mea­sure­ment and Sig­na­ture Intel­li­gence and for the Cen­ter for Sys­tems Engi­neer­ing. Work will be per­formed at Wright-Pat­ter­son Air Force Base, Ohio, and a local con­trac­tor facil­i­ty with­in ten miles. At this time, $434,649 has been oblig­at­ed.
