Saab receives order from FMV regarding Gripen system

Defence and secu­ri­ty com­pa­ny Saab has received an order amount­ing to MSEK 500 from FMV (the Swedish Defence Materiel Admin­is­tra­tion) for sys­tem main­te­nance and devel­op­ment stud­ies regard­ing Gripen.

In accor­dance with the order from FMV, Saab will under­take con­tin­u­al main­te­nance and updates for the Gripen C/D in com­pli­ance with the Swedish Armed Forces’ long-term plan­ning for the Gripen sys­tem. Saab will also imple­ment stud­ies regard­ing fur­ther devel­op­ment.
Saab will also main­tain the Gripen C/D system’s oper­a­tional capa­bil­i­ty. The order includes tech­ni­cal sup­port, prod­uct main­te­nance, flight test­ing and flight sim­u­la­tor oper­a­tion to ensure the oper­a­tional capa­bil­i­ty of the Gripen sys­tem.
The total order amounts to MSEK 500 with the activ­i­ties to be car­ried out dur­ing the first four months of 2012.
