Irak — Iraqis Arrest Terror Group Associates

BAGHDAD, June 15, 2010 — Iraqi secu­ri­ty forces arrest­ed two sus­pect­ed al-Qai­da in Iraq crim­i­nal asso­ciates dur­ing a com­bined oper­a­tion north­east of the Iraqi cap­i­tal today, mil­i­tary offi­cials said.

Iraqi forces and U.S. advi­sors searched mul­ti­ple build­ings for a sus­pect­ed al-Qai­da in Iraq mem­ber who alleged­ly is involved in plan­ning and exe­cut­ing vehi­cle-borne bomb­ing attacks. 

Infor­ma­tion and evi­dence gath­ered at the scene led Iraqi forces to iden­ti­fy and arrest two sus­pect­ed crim­i­nal asso­ciates of the want­ed man, offi­cials said.
