WASHINGTON, May 12, 2010 — Iraqi security forces arrested four terrorism suspects in two operations yesterday, military officials reported.
Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisors in western Mosul arrested a suspected al-Qaida in Iraq leader who allegedly is responsible for providing funding for terrorist activities and has ties to other high-level al-Qaida in Iraq leaders.
In other news yesterday, Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisors in Tikrit arrested a suspected al-Qaida in Iraq member and two criminal associates.
The suspected al-Qaida in Iraq member is believed to have provided planning and facilitation for bomb attacks on civilians and Iraqi and coalition forces. He also is believed to have ties to other terrorists.
