Asia’s largest military training and simulation conference organised by Clarion Events

Addressing military force readiness and warfighter preparation in Asia
Singapore, September 5 – With defence budgets for several Asian countries rising, modernisation options are opening up for more equipment and technologies for the military. It is at this point that training and simulation come to the fore, as armies, navies and air forces need to train personnel on the newly acquired platforms and technologies that are going to be deployed. There has been an increase in the need to improve R&D efforts in the development of simulation technologies for army, air force and navy, in order to prepare personnel for eventual combat operations. Due to its cost effective nature and simplicity, simulation has become more accepted culturally in armed forces throughout Asia.

In less than 4 weeks, on 28–29 September, Clarion Events will be launching the Military Training & Simulation Asia conference with support from industry authorities; Boeing, Havok, Presagis, Projectiondesign, TME Systems and Yusung C&C. The conference brings together the milsim community in Asia, featuring top regional military speakers, who will be addressing m&s challenges in weapon systems development, 3D technology for simulation, the use of data/models for simulation and many more.

A key highlight of the programme is without a doubt the 20+ presentations to be delivered by leaders in the field of military simulation and the design of realistic battlefield operations from around the world. Military Training & Simulation Asia is the only content-led conference in the region that covers discussions on tailor fit and COTs solutions for Asian militaries. Military Training & Simulation Asia will further the discussion on military training and education, and help further the expansion of the military simulation community in Asia. With over 20+ speakers you are going to meet with military simulation subject matter experts from Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea and many more.

Keynote speaker Dr. Umut Durak, the chief of modeling simulation at TUBITAK SAGE, which is Turkey’s Defense Industries Research and Development Institute will be talking about modeling and simulation concept development, utilising it for command and control applications. Additionally he will be discussing weapon simulations and mission simulator integration for flight, ship, tank and howitzer simulators.

This will be very valuable to the conference since, his research specifically covers modeling and simulation of weapon systems and how that applies to simulation methodologies and infrastructures, and intelligent command and control systems. He has published more than 10 papers in various conferences and journals. Dr. Umut DURAK participated in NATO LCG3/SG2 NATO Armaments Ballistic Kernel (NABK) Project as Turkish Development Team head between 2003 and 2006. Since 2008 he has been a part of NATO ACG/2 NATO Universal Armaments Interface (NUAI) Specialist Team and leading NIAG Study Group 156 on NUAI Mission Planning Interface Standardisation.

“The primary objective for Military Training & Simulation Asia is to provide a growing platform for the evolving training and simulation community in Asia. Our team believes that only by working closely with our market, can we offer an annual conference that will meet the key needs of all stakeholders.” said Amo Mostofi, General Manager Asia for Defence & Security, Clarion Events. For its inaugural year, Military Training & Simulation Asia looks at key Asian militaries and their requirements. This includes how simulation and training can help drive the modernisation by focusing on elements such as pre deployment training, wargaming and data modeling to simulate combat situations and prepare service personnel.

About
Clarion Events specialise in high-level defence and security events which are created with the input of a panel of senior level government, military and industry advisors. Extensive research and dialogue with these contacts ensure our events reflect the most important issues facing you and the wider defence and security community today. By making it our primary mission to work closely with the Asian defence community, including all senior stakeholders and leaders we are able to create the most effective programmes for the Asian market. Our events provide the ideal venue for these high level delegates to meet, share ideas, discuss industry developments, conduct business, develop partnerships and network for future growth.
