Pho­to exhi­bi­tion illus­trates Turkey’s engage­ment in Afghanistan

Turkey’s ongo­ing efforts in Afghanistan are at the cen­tre of a pho­to exhi­bi­tion held at NATO Head­quar­ters from 10 to 16 June in Brus­sels.

Turkey, which enjoys spe­cial his­tor­i­cal and cul­tur­al ties with Afghanistan, has launched a com­pre­hen­sive assis­tance pro­gram, with the aim of improv­ing Afghan own­er­ship and ensur­ing sus­tain­able peace and devel­op­ment in the country. 

Turkey’s sup­port to Afghanistan is coor­di­nat­ed by the Min­istry of For­eign Affairs and the Turk­ish Coop­er­a­tion and Devel­op­ment Agency. The Turk­ish Armed Forces pro­vide sub­stan­tial con­tri­bu­tions to the capac­i­ty build­ing efforts in the secu­ri­ty realm both through bilat­er­al chan­nels and also through NATO/ISAF, which has twice been under Turk­ish command.
