Top U.S. com­man­der vis­its Air Defence Artillery Com­mand to check the readi­ness pos­ture for “Nuclear Secu­ri­ty Sum­mit 2012”
Gen. James Sher­man, Com­man­der of the South Korea‑U.S. Com­bined Forces Com­mand (CFC), vis­it­ed on March 6 a patri­ot artillery ele­ment unit under the Kore­an Air Force Air Defence Artillery Com­mand to check the readi­ness con­di­tions for the Nuclear Secu­ri­ty Sum­mit 2012.

Dur­ing his vis­it to the unit, which was pri­mar­i­ly made for him to check the mil­i­tary readi­ness pos­ture for the Nuclear Secu­ri­ty Sum­mit 2012 and also to help improve the unit’s oper­a­tions capa­bil­i­ty, Gen. Sher­man checked the unit’s com­bat readi­ness in peace­time and wartime, and the over­all Patri­ot mis­sile pow­er employ­ment realities. 

In par­tic­u­lar, Com­man­der Sher­man and some com­mand­ing offi­cers from the ROKAF ADAC dis­cussed sub­stan­tial­ly not only all the mat­ters nec­es­sary for strength­en­ing the Korea‑U.S. com­bined oper­a­tions capa­bil­i­ties, but a tech­ni­cal sup­port plan for safe equip­ment operations. 

“The air defense artillery strength is such essen­tial mil­i­tary pow­er for a prompt coun­ter­ac­tion against any hos­tile activ­i­ty that the U.S force will help rein­force the mil­i­tary coop­er­a­tion with that of S. Korea,” Gen. Sher­man emphasized.
